The best social listening MCP servers
Social listening MCP servers let your agent track brand mentions on Reddit, X, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn. Compare listening platforms that collect mentions continuously with servers that search on demand.
Which MCP servers track brand mentions?
Listening platforms and on-demand search
Social listening MCP servers fall into two groups. The first is listening platforms with their own MCP server: they collect and score mentions of your keywords all the time, so your agent queries data already gathered. The second is social data servers your agent searches on demand, when it asks. Publishing and scheduling servers, which post to your own accounts, are a different job and are not covered here.

Prices and plans checked October 2026 on each vendor's own page. Manifold's X coverage reads public accounts and their posts one account at a time; keyword search across X is not covered.
Octolens
Octolens is a listening platform with a hosted MCP server at https://app.octolens.com/api/mcp/v2. You add the URL to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor and sign in through your browser the first time, with no API key. Its tools list and filter collected mentions, run SQL analytics over them, and manage keywords, feeds and Slack, email or webhook alerts.
Octolens scores each mention for relevance, tags it, and labels its sentiment, so your agent works with filtered mentions rather than raw posts. Checked October 2026, its Pro plan is $159/mo billed annually, MCP is included on every plan, and there is a 7-day free trial.
Best for: Teams that want a platform to score and filter mentions before the agent sees them.
Limits: Needs an Octolens account. Your agent sees the mentions your plan has collected for your tracked keywords.
Mentionlytics
Mentionlytics MCP connects your AI tool to the listening data in your Mentionlytics account. You create an access token in Mentionlytics, put it in the MCP URL, and add that URL as a custom connector. Your agent can then ask about mention volume, sentiment and competitors across the platforms Mentionlytics tracks.
Checked October 2026, the MCP server needs a Pro plan or above, which is $499/mo billed yearly.
Best for: Teams already on a Mentionlytics Pro plan who want their listening data in their agent.
Limits: Pro plan or above. The token sits in the URL, so keep that URL private.
Meltwater
Meltwater MCP brings the media and social intelligence in your Meltwater subscription into AI assistants. Its developer guide documents a remote server for custom agents, authenticated with your Meltwater API token, and there are connectors for Claude and ChatGPT that use your Meltwater sign-in. It is also listed in Claude's connector directory.
What your agent can reach depends on the Meltwater products in your plan. Checked October 2026, it needs an active subscription with the MCP add-on, priced through Meltwater's sales team.
Best for: Enterprise teams already on Meltwater who want its data in conversational workflows.
Limits: Needs a Meltwater subscription and the MCP add-on. Sales-led pricing.
Xpoz
Xpoz runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.xpoz.ai/mcp, documented in its GitHub repository. You connect over HTTP and sign in with OAuth. It searches an index of posts on X, Instagram, Reddit and TikTok by keyword, author or post, and can count posts matching a query over time.
Checked October 2026, Xpoz has a free tier with 500 one-time credits and a Pro plan at $20/mo, or $16/mo billed annually.
Best for: Keyword search and post counts across X, Instagram, Reddit and TikTok.
Limits: Needs an Xpoz account. It is closer to a social search tool than a listening dashboard, so scoring is left to your agent.
SnitchFeed
SnitchFeed has a hosted MCP server at https://api.snitchfeed.com/mcp. You paste the URL into your AI app and log in with your SnitchFeed account. Your agent can work with saved mentions, run live searches of X, LinkedIn, Reddit and Hacker News, set up listeners, and route matches to Slack, email or webhooks.
Checked October 2026, MCP is included on every plan and its Starter plan starts at $47/mo.
Best for: Teams that want buying-intent listeners their agent can set up and query.
Limits: Needs a SnitchFeed account. Covers five platforms.
Mentionkit
Mentionkit offers a remote MCP server at https://api.mentionkit.com/mcp. Connect with OAuth and approve workspace access, or use the API key URL from Mentionkit's settings. Your agent loads your project context, shortlists strong mentions, and checks the source links before it summarizes.
Checked October 2026, Mentionkit covers Reddit, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Bluesky, Hacker News and YouTube, and its plan starts at $49/mo.
Best for: Teams that want a shortlist of mentions worth replying to.
Limits: Needs a Mentionkit account. Your agent sees the keywords you track.
Buska
Buska has a hosted MCP server at https://api.buska.io/mcp, documented in its GitHub repository. Connect with OAuth. Its tools live-search one platform for a keyword, pull the buying signals Buska has already scored for your keywords, and score a lead for intent and fit.
Buska is built for lead generation more than brand reporting. Checked October 2026, it monitors Reddit, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Hacker News and more than 20 other platforms, with plans from $49/mo and a 7-day free trial.
Best for: Finding people who are asking for a product like yours.
Limits: Needs a Buska account. Built around buying intent rather than brand sentiment.
Manifold
Manifold is a hosted MCP server with no API keys of your own. It searches social platforms on demand when your agent asks, and your agent does the reading, scoring and summarizing itself.
For Reddit, the Reddit MCP has reddit_get_new_posts, which returns every post in up to 10 subreddits inside a time window, oldest first, optionally kept to posts that contain your terms. It reports how much of the window it covered and gives back next_since to pass as since on the next check, so your agent can check new posts since the last run and dedupe on post id. reddit_search_posts and reddit_search_comments search all of Reddit by keyword, ranked by Reddit.
The LinkedIn MCP searches posts by keyword, ranked by LinkedIn. The Instagram MCP searches posts by hashtag. The TikTok MCP and YouTube MCP search videos by keyword. The Facebook MCP reads pages, posts, groups and comments. The X (Twitter) MCP reads public accounts and their recent posts with twitter_get_tweets; keyword search across X and reading replies are not covered.
Manifold has no built-in alerts, dashboards or sentiment scoring. Your agent does the summing up, and a scheduled agent run or routine does the repeat checks. The same server also covers SEO, AI visibility, ads and leads data.
It is pay per call, with 500 free credits per workspace, then Pro from $20/mo. For what each tool returns and costs, see the tools documentation.
Best for: One hosted server across social, Reddit, SEO, ads and leads, with on-demand search and no API keys of your own.
Limits: No alerts, dashboards or sentiment scoring. X keyword search and replies are not covered. Your agent does the reading, filtering and scoring.
Example social listening prompts
Once a social listening server is connected, your agent can track mentions and summarize conversations. Here are prompts you can paste into Claude or ChatGPT:
Track Reddit mentions and complaints: "Check new Reddit posts in r/saas, r/startups, and r/entrepreneur since the last run that mention our brand or [competitor]. Summarize complaints and feature requests people are discussing."
Find LinkedIn conversation drivers: "Search LinkedIn posts about [topic] from the last week and list who is driving the conversation. Include their name, headline, post text, and engagement counts."
Sort brand mentions by sentiment: "Search for brand mentions on Reddit and LinkedIn from the last 24 hours. Group them by sentiment (positive, neutral, negative) and highlight the most engaged threads."
Track competitor activity: "Find new posts mentioning [competitor] on Reddit and LinkedIn in the last 48 hours. Summarize what people are saying and which topics come up most."
Discover product feedback: "Check these three subreddits for posts about [product category] from the last week. List common pain points, feature requests, and recommended alternatives."
A note on platform terms and privacy
Platform terms and privacy rules apply to collecting and storing people's posts, whether through a listening platform or on-demand search. Outreach must follow consent and anti-spam rules where you operate, however the data was gathered. Check your workflows with whoever handles legal and compliance.
Which social listening MCP server should you use?
Pick by whether you want a platform that collects and scores mentions for you, or on-demand search where your agent does the work.
You want a platform that tracks keywords and scores mentions for you. Use Octolens, Mentionlytics, Meltwater, SnitchFeed, Mentionkit or Buska. They collect mentions continuously, so your agent queries data already gathered and scored.
You already pay for Mentionlytics, Meltwater or another listening tool. Use its MCP server, so your agent works with the data you already have.
You want keyword search across a large social index. Xpoz searches X, Instagram, Reddit and TikTok, including keyword search on X.
You want on-demand search where your agent does the reading, scoring and filtering. Manifold searches platforms when your agent asks, charges per call, and needs no API keys of your own. For Reddit, the Reddit MCP supports the listening workflow with reddit_get_new_posts, which returns new posts in your communities since the last check. The same server covers SEO, AI visibility, ads and leads data.
