Reddit monitoring for brand mentions and leads

Get told when Reddit mentions your brand, a competitor or the problem you solve, or read every new post in the subreddits that matter. Your agent reads each find in Claude or ChatGPT and drafts the reply.

What is Reddit monitoring?

Reddit monitoring is checking Reddit on a schedule for new posts that mention your brand, competitors or keywords, so you can answer while a thread is still fresh. A Reddit thread gets most of its replies in its first day or two, so an hourly or daily check with an alert beats searching by hand.

What it watches

Each check repeats the same calls and keeps what it saw, so the next one reports only what is new. Change the cadence or alerts on any monitor.

New Reddit posts that use your keywords, from Reddit search. Add subreddits and it reads every new post in them instead, which search can miss.

Things to ask

Plain questions in any connected client. The agent picks the tools.

  • Monitor Reddit every hour for posts that mention [brand] or [competitor].

  • Watch r/[subreddit] and tell me about every new post asking for a tool like ours.

  • What did my Reddit monitor find this week? Draft a reply to the best three threads.

  • Which subreddits should I monitor for [category]? Then set up a daily monitor on the top five.

  • Track Reddit posts asking for an alternative to [competitor].

  • How much would it cost to monitor five keywords on Reddit every hour?

Alerts, a listening platform, or your agent

Free alert services email you a link when a keyword appears. Listening platforms add many more sources, scoring and dashboards, at a monthly price. A Manifold monitor sits between them: the finds go to your agent, which can read the thread and draft the answer. For setting up your own scheduled check, see how to monitor Reddit for brand mentions.

For a one-off look, your agent searches Reddit, reads threads and comments, and finds subreddits on the same server.

Questions about reddit monitoring

Should I use keywords or subreddits?

Keywords use Reddit search, which reaches all of Reddit but is ranked and can miss posts. Subreddits read every new post in them, so nothing in those communities is missed. Use both: keywords for your brand across Reddit, subreddits for where your buyers ask.

Does it alert me by email?

Yes, alerts are on by default for Reddit, because a thread is answered in its first day or two. You get at most one email a day per monitor, and the rest wait in its feed.

Does it read comments?

No, posts only. To read a thread’s comments, ask your agent: it calls the Reddit tools on the same server, at their usual price.

Can my agent set it up for me?

Yes. Ask in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any connected client, such as “monitor this every day”. The agent shows the monthly cost first and creates the monitor once you agree. Later, ask what changed and it reads the monitor’s finds. You can also make one in the dashboard. How monitors work

Why did the first check find nothing?

The first check records a starting point and reports nothing, so a week of old posts or a page's existing links never arrive as news. Changes are reported from the second check on.

Can a monitor run up a bill?

Each check charges for the calls it makes, shown as a monthly estimate before you start. Your workspace’s spend cap applies to monitors as to everything else: at the cap checks are skipped until it resets, and with no credits left a monitor pauses until you act. There is no overage.
