Social media monitoring with your AI agent

Track mentions of your brand on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Reddit, and new posts from any account, yours or a competitor’s, with the ones that take off flagged. Your agent reads every change in Claude or ChatGPT.

What is social media monitoring?

Social media monitoring is tracking new posts that mention your brand, products or competitors, and what chosen accounts publish, so you can reply, learn or react while it matters. It is the tactical half of social listening: what was said today, rather than the trend over a year.

What it watches

Each check repeats the same calls and keeps what it saw, so the next one reports only what is new. Change the cadence or alerts on any monitor.

Monitors in the docs
  • Social account tracking

New posts from up to ten accounts, yours or anyone’s, and a flag when one does far better than the account usually does.

    Hourly by defaultEmail alerts on
  • Keyword tracking

New posts that use your keywords on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Reddit. Instagram searches each keyword as one hashtag.

Things to ask

Plain questions in any connected client. The agent picks the tools.

  • Monitor LinkedIn and TikTok every day for posts that mention [brand].

  • Track [competitor]’s Instagram, TikTok and YouTube and tell me when a post takes off.

  • What did my social monitors find this week? Which posts should we answer?

  • Watch these five creators’ accounts and summarise what they posted each week.

  • Set up a monitor for #[hashtag] on Instagram and TikTok.

  • How much would it cost to monitor three keywords on four platforms every hour?

A listening suite, the apps themselves, or your agent

Listening suites cover the most sources, with sentiment and reports, priced per seat. Following accounts in each app is free but leaves you scrolling. A Manifold monitor reports what is new to your agent, which can read it and act. For listening platforms with their own MCP server, see the best social listening MCP servers.

What it costs a month

Each check pays for the calls it makes, at the same prices as your agent’s calls, and the form shows the monthly cost before it starts. No seats and no plan per monitor. Every workspace gets 250 free credits a month.

Questions about social media monitoring

Which platforms does it cover?

Keyword mentions on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Reddit. Account tracking on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook pages. Facebook and X keyword search are not covered.

How does Instagram search work?

Instagram is searched by hashtag, so each keyword is read as one tag: “acme crm” reads #acmecrm. Pick keywords people tag.

Can I track a competitor’s account?

Yes. Account tracking reads any public account, yours or anyone’s, and reports new posts and the ones that take off. For their ads, pages and rankings too, see competitor monitoring. Competitor monitoring

Can my agent set it up for me?

Yes. Ask in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any connected client, such as “monitor this every day”. The agent shows the monthly cost first and creates the monitor once you agree. Later, ask what changed and it reads the monitor’s finds. You can also make one in the dashboard. How monitors work

Why did the first check find nothing?

The first check records a starting point and reports nothing, so a week of old posts or a page's existing links never arrive as news. Changes are reported from the second check on.

Can a monitor run up a bill?

Each check charges for the calls it makes, shown as a monthly estimate before you start. Your workspace’s spend cap applies to monitors as to everything else: at the cap checks are skipped until it resets, and with no credits left a monitor pauses until you act. There is no overage.
