The best TikTok MCP servers

When your agent needs TikTok data, an MCP server connects it to videos, comments, transcripts and creator profiles. Some servers are hosted and work with the vendor's account or API key. Others run on your own machine with a browser. Each charges in its own way and suits a different job.

TikTok's own Research API is limited to approved academic and non-profit researchers in the US and EU, and its Display API reads only the accounts that sign in to your app. That is why most TikTok MCP servers read public data instead.

The kinds of TikTok MCP servers

TikTok MCP servers fall into four groups by what they offer and how they run:

Hosted research servers pull videos, profiles, comments and sometimes transcripts from public TikTok pages, with no TikTok developer account. You sign in with the vendor's own account or API key. Use one when you want to search videos, read creators and check comments without running anything yourself.

Local browser servers drive Playwright or a headless browser against TikTok's public pages on your own machine. They need no TikTok API keys, but setup takes longer and they only run locally. Use one when you want full control and can manage a local server.

Transcript and video analysis servers add speech-to-text and AI extraction to the basic reads. Some need your own speech-to-text key, others include transcription in their price. Use one when what is said in videos matters more than engagement numbers.

Own-account servers work on your own TikTok account through TikTok's official APIs. TikTok for Business MCP, TikTok's own server, manages and reports on your ad campaigns. HasData TikTok MCP

HasData TikTok MCP is a hosted server at https://mcp.hasdata.com/mcp?apis=tiktok. It has four tools: a public profile by handle, a page of an account's videos, the comments on a video, and keyword search for videos or creators. Results carry engagement counts such as followers, likes, plays and comments.

Clients with OAuth, such as Claude, can add the URL as a connector and sign in. Otherwise send a HasData API key in an x-api-key header, or use the stdio launchers on npm (@hasdata/tiktok-mcp) and PyPI (hasdata-tiktok-mcp). Get a key from the HasData dashboard.

The free plan gives 1,000 credits every month, which the README puts at 100 TikTok calls. After that, the Startup plan is $49/mo for 200,000 credits.

Best for: Hosted TikTok research when a free monthly allowance covers your light use.

SocialDataX TikTok MCP

SocialDataX TikTok MCP is a hosted server at https://mcp.socialdatax.com/tiktok/mcp. Its tools search users and posts, read post details from a URL, fetch first-level comments and their replies, read creator profiles and posts, and submit transcript jobs that you check by job_id. Add it as a streamable HTTP server with a SocialDataX API key in an Authorization: Bearer header.

Best for: Hosted TikTok research when you need comment replies and transcripts as async jobs.

VeedCrawl MCP

VeedCrawl MCP is a local server installed with npm install -g @veedcrawl/mcp. It searches public videos on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook by topic or creator, reads metadata for a video URL (X included), fetches transcripts from captions or AI speech-to-text, extracts structured answers from a video with an optional JSON Schema, and reads TikTok and Instagram creator profiles with up to 50 recent videos.

Best for: Cross-platform video search, transcripts and structured extraction when you work across several video platforms.

nuelcyoung/tiktok-mcp-server

nuelcyoung/tiktok-mcp-server is a free, open-source Python server (MIT) that runs with uvx tiktok-mcp-server. It needs Python 3.11 or later, which uv installs for you, and downloads Playwright Chromium on first use. Its six tools read profiles, an account's recent videos and a video's comments, search videos by keyword or hashtag, discover creators on a topic, and transcribe a video by sending its audio to your own OpenAI-compatible speech-to-text endpoint (Groq, OpenAI or a Whisper server you host).

Set TRANSCRIBE_API_URL and TRANSCRIBE_API_KEY to turn on transcription, or leave them out to use the other five tools. On Linux, run uvx --from playwright playwright install-deps chromium once for the system libraries headless Chromium needs.

Best for: Free local TikTok research when you can run Playwright and supply your own speech-to-text API.

TokScript MCP

TokScript MCP is a hosted connector for Claude and ChatGPT. Copy your MCP URL from TokScript, add it as a custom connector, and sign in with your TokScript account. Its tools pull transcripts with timestamps from TikTok, Instagram and YouTube videos, download TikTok and Instagram videos without watermarks, read TikTok and Instagram profiles and their videos, and run bulk transcript jobs.

The connector comes with any plan from $10/mo or $39/year. Some tools are marked free on every plan, while bulk processing and downloads need a higher tier.

Best for: Transcript-first workflows across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
