### How is the TikTok engagement rate calculated?

For each of the latest videos, likes plus comments plus shares, divided by the video's views. The rate shown is the average across those videos. Views, not followers, because a TikTok reaches far past the people who follow the account.

### Why use views instead of followers?

Most TikTok views come from people who do not follow the account, so dividing by followers can show rates above 100 percent. Dividing by views measures how the people who saw a video responded to it.

### What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?

It depends on the niche and the kind of video. Compare an account with peers that post similar content rather than with one benchmark.
