# How big is that subreddit, really?

### Why is there no member count?

Reddit stopped showing member counts in 2025. It now shows weekly visitors and weekly contributions instead, which say more about how alive a community is. Those are the numbers here.

### What counts as a contribution?

A post or a comment. Contributions per hundred visitors is a rough measure of how much of the audience joins in rather than reads.

### Can I promote my product in a subreddit?

Only where its rules allow it, and many do not. Read the rules shown here before you post; most communities ban accounts that post links without taking part first.
